In July-my husband built a box garden for herbs attached to our porch--what an awesome birthday present for me!
How has this helped us stay frugal? We just clip the herbs from the plants to add to our dinner. The fastest growing money saver? Green onions! The onions are growing in just a few days, so we always have plenty.

If you like green onions you should try chives. They are great on potatoes and deviled eggs. Chives grow well in pots too.
