We too had a Dec. Wedding! It is great because the church will already be decorated for Christmas! Make sure and tell her to check out what the church will be decorating with and simply add small things to that (candles, bows, etc.)

We decorated with crepe paper roses, tulle, swagged beads, and lots of candles at our wedding. Sounds kinda funny, but it was actually very pretty and quite frugal.
From the very first we decided that we didn't have to do things just because that's the way it was "supposed" to be done. That allowed us to make our own decisions without feeling like we were selling ourselves short. It was more important to us to have a unique and inexpensive wedding then to have a traditional expensive wedding with all the trappings…and then be paying for it for the next 10 years.
I just got married in September on a budget and we made our own attendants gifts. We got little white boxes online really cheap like $50 for 200 and we put some dried moss in the bottom, got a couple bags at the dollar store for a buck. Then we got a case of tulip bulbs (case of 400) for like $130 then put them together with a ribbon and a printed card the size of a business card. I am a landscape designer so the bulbs worked for me, but you can do this with anything and it works out to like a dollar a person or less pretty cheap. Hope this helps.
